
Cherry Hill Police Reports September 2006



September 8th, 2006 – 11:52 am
Buy Rite on Route 70 called police to report they a shoplifter who was trying to drive away after taking a $51 bottle of Vodka. Police arrived to find the shoplifter’s car blocked in by another car and the shoplifter had damaged the other car when he tried to flee. The 39 yr old male was charged with shoplifting.
September 7th, 2006 – 11:51 am
A random license plate check by police on patrol revealed a registered owner had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Mt. Laurel. Police stopped the car and the driver confirmed his identity. The 39 yr old male was placed under arrest.
September 6th, 2006 – 9:69 pm
Police observed a vehicle parked in a parking lot of a business on Chapel Avenue that appeared to be running. A check of the license plate revealed that the registered owner had an outstanding warrant out of Evesham Township. As police approached the vehicle, they noticed a person was reclined in the driver’s seat. The male was questioned and the car was searched. A bag of marijuana was found inside the car and the 35 yr old male was placed under arrest and charged with possession of CDS.
September 6th, 2006 – 4:38 pm
Wegman’s on Route 70 called police to report they had a 45 yr old female shoplifter in custody. The woman was charged with shoplifting and $6 in merchandise was recovered.
September 6th, 2006 – 3:31 pm
Police were called to an apartment building on Kings Highway for a reported man climbing up balconies and into an apartment. Police entered the apartment the man was seen entering and found him sitting on the couch. The man was arrested and charged with trespassing. The apartment belonged to the man’s ex-girlfriend. The woman filed a restraining order against the 26 yd old male and he was charged with domestic trespassing.
September 6th, 2006 – 1:26 pm
Kohl’s on Route 38 called police to report a shoplifter who was trying to flee in a car. The car reportedly damaged multiple cars in the parking lot during the escape attempt. The car was then involved in another accident on Church Road and Maple Avenue in Merchantville. The 20 yr old female was charged with shoplifting and was issued numerous traffic violations.
September 6th, 2006 – 1:00 pm
Shoprite on Route 70 called police to report they had a 53 yr old female shoplifter in custody. The woman was charged with shoplifting and $63 in food items was recovered.
September 3rd, 2006 – 4:07 pm
Police observed a vehicle weaving in and out of traffic in a careless manner on Kenwood Drive near Route 70. Police stopped the vehicle and noticed a clear jar containing brownish-green vegetation in plain view. The vegetation turned out to be marijuana. Police found additional marijuana inside the car. The 19 yr old driver, along with his 18 and 22 yr old passengers, was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams.
September 2nd, 2006 – 11:27 pm
Police observed a vehicle do a U-Turn on Chapel Avenue. Police stopped the car on Chapel Avenue and Kings Highway. When police questioned the driver and passenger, they noticed inconsistent statements. Police searched the 19 yr old female and found a glass pipe and marijuana. She was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams. The male passenger had an outstanding arrest warrant and was transported to Camden County Jail.
September 2nd, 2006 – 5:51 pm
Home Depot on Route 70 called police to report a shoplifter who was trying to flee in a car. Police located the vehicle and stopped it before it was able to leave the parking lot. A 45 yr old male was arrested and charged with shoplifting. He also had an outstanding warrant out of Deptford. The man was transported to Camden County Jail. An $84 sub-pump was recovered.
September 2nd, 2006 – 1:41 am
Police were called to the Top Dog on Route 70 for a reported fight. When police arrived they observed a man attempt to interfere with EMS medical personnel and act in a disorderly manner. The man refused police orders to stop his actions. He was placed under arrest and marijuana was found on him during a search. The 26 yr old male was charged with disorderly conduct.
September 2nd, 2006
Shoprite on Route 70 called police to report they had a 51 yr old female shoplifter in custody. The woman was charged with shoplifting.
September 1st, 2006 – 6:16 pm
Macy’s in the Cherry Hill Mall called police to report they had to 18 yr old female shoplifters in custody. The women were charged with shoplifting and $142 in clothing was recovered.
