The Butrymowiczs enjoy a night on the town from Elauwit and the Lenape Regional Performing Arts Center
It was a night to remember for Bob and Susan Butrymowicz, of Marlton, winners of Elauwit and Lenape Regional Performing Arts Center’s summer season kick-off contest.
The pair were treated to dinner at La Posata Ristorante in Marlton, a limo for the evening from First Class Luxury Limos of Delran and, the grand finale, tickets to Neil Berg’s “105 Years of Broadway: Radio Waves” at the performing arts center.
“The show was terrific,” Bob said. “Susan and I thoroughly enjoyed everything and had a great dinner.”
The evening got off to a great start at La Posata.
“Dinner was great,” Bob exclaimed. “Our waitress was great, we had a nice table and got to meet the owner Joe. It was just a terrific dinner. We must have been the only people who hadn’t been there. Our son, Bob, and others told us how good it was once they found out where we were going.”
Dinner was only the beginning as the pair were whisked away in a stretch limo to the show, which they said was probably the best one they’d been to.
“The first year the center was there, they had a military band from Washington D.C.,” he said referring to their first show. “But the one we saw Saturday was probably the best one. They advertise it as 105 years of Broadway, but they covered everything from the ’50s, to the hippie generation and folk music to the current day. The performers were really outstanding.”
They also received an autographed CD of last year’s show and met Neil Berg and the cast.
“It was really different and very neat being taken around and meeting the cast and everyone. My wife thoroughly enjoyed it,” Bob said.
The Butrymowiczs weren’t the only winners either. Runners-up Thomas Clark, of Cherry Hill, and Linda Hamilton, of Moorestown won gift certificates to Hugo Boss clothing store at The Promenade and to Beau Rivage restaurant.
To win the prizes, readers were asked to suggest potential acts for future seasons at the arts center. More than 300 entries were received.
“Our recommendation was the Moody Blues because my wife loves them,” Bob said. “We attend events at the center pretty regularly. We go to all the school plays and pick and choose from the other events. Last summer, we saw Grease and brought our street rod along with others who brought theirs.
“It’s great for us because we live so close, probably a mile or mile and a half away. We’d like to thank everyone who sponsored the trip. They did a terrific job, and it really was a night to remember.”
