Residents to voice opinion on district budget, and elect three to Board of Education

By now you’ve read the entire “Meet the Candidates” features, reviewed the proposed budget, discussed the issues with your neighbors and you’re ready for the upcoming vote, right?

Good, the hard part is over. Now all you have to do is make your way to the polls between 2 and 9 p.m. on April 15 and voice your opinion.

To find your polling location, you can log onto the Cherry Hill School District Web site at www. cherryhill.k12.nj.us.

Residents will vote on six candidates for three open three-year seats on the Board of Education: Stuart Chaifetz, Constantine G. Cheston, Eric Goodwin, Seth Klukoff, Nancy E. Muldowney and Elliot A. Roth.

Incumbents Anne Einhorn, Susan Badaracco and Nancy O’Dowd are not running for re-election.

The proposed budget includes a nine-cent tax increase, which equates to a $126 increase this year for the average home valued at $140,000. The general fund budget increased 6.8 percent from last year, which the district attributed to several different projects planned to implement recommendations from a recent study on improving financial management.

The full budget and a PowerPoint presentation breaking it down can also be found at www.cherryhill.k12.nj.us.
